About Us
Icons of Surf was started in 2004 by avid surfer, Ken Mockett, to create a unique surf shop that celebrates the surfer, surfing and surfboard maker.
With roots from the 70's surf scene and 30+ years of surfing experience, creating Icons of Surf was a natural evolution for Mockett. In addition to amazing surfboards you will find limited edition, boutique and iconic brands of clothing, shoes, sunglasses, etc... with the same quality and unique style. You will not be disappointed. You will quickly discover what makes Icons of Surf a "Surfer's" surf shop.
"We offer an alternative to the traditional thruster and hi-performance 3 fin longboards that dominate our sport. Icons of Surf is a venue for exceptional handmade Southern California surfing sleds with unparalleled quality, style and design. Many of the boards are individually built with unique integrity. You will feel like you are buying a custom surfboard right off the rack without the long wait. We choose to celebrate surfing for what it is to us: a joyful union between the surfer and the ocean. Our mission is to give voice to those people — surfers, shapers, writers, artists, filmmakers, and photographers — who quietly keep surf culture alive" - Ken Mockett
